Before our visit, surfaces should be cleaned of dust and dirt (where possible) so the product can be better absorbed.

How do we know if we are infested with woodworms?

Our clients usually realize they are affected by woodworms only when they notice the first sign of their presence - tiny holes in wooden interior elements, accompanied by a characteristic creaking sound. Unfortunately, these signs indicate that the problem has existed for a long time, and it is very likely that the woodworm population has grown significantly - often all furniture and wooden surfaces are affected. That is why strong, long-lasting products are used in treatments against these insects, along with a tailored application method.

Why are woodworms difficult to eliminate and eradicate?

The effective removal and long-term elimination of woodworms and their larvae (wood-boring worms) is one of the most difficult and complex processes, even for any professional pest control company such as Bran Insect. This is due to the fact that this type of insect spends most of its life hidden deep inside the wood. They leave their shelters only when they develop into adult individuals - imago, and usually because they are seeking to settle in another wooden structure.

Woodworms can remain hidden for years in furniture, picture frames, wooden paneling, and even in the beams supporting roof structures. The reason they settle in a particular type of wood is the lack of treatment with special protective coatings or so-called impregnation. Once established, woodworms will gradually destroy the material, even if impregnation is applied later, unless regular professional treatments with high-quality products are carried out.

How do we proceed and what guarantees do we provide for effective protection?

Bran Insect carries out treatments using the most effective modern products for eliminating and preventing woodworms, achieving the best results in enclosed spaces, where external factors that reduce the effectiveness of chemicals - temperature fluctuations, dust, sunlight, and precipitation - are absent.

The methods we use for woodworm control achieve maximum effectiveness by reducing the existing population by 50% to 70%. This significantly extends the lifespan of interior wooden elements affected by their larvae, sometimes several times over, while also providing long-term protection against reinfestation for up to one year, thereby preventing their spread to other wooden items and furniture.

It should be noted that the products we use act only on adult specimens (imago), but not on the larvae (wood-boring worms), which remain hidden deep inside the wood. However, it is important for the product to remain active as long as possible to ensure the complete elimination of the adult population.

We use only products that are harmless to humans and non-target animals, which is why we recommend that they should not be washed off. The longer the product remains active, the greater the effectiveness of the treatment, as it works only when applied to wood affected by woodworms.

Our company does not provide a 100% guarantee when treating wooden roof structures affected by woodworms, as we cannot guarantee that part of the population will not survive in hard-to-reach areas, especially at joints. The same applies to outdoor wooden structures, where weather conditions may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. However, we guarantee that this woodworm control method has been used by us for over 15 years and has proven to be highly effective over time.

Frequency of treatments for woodworm control

For maximum quality of treatments in the control and long-term elimination of woodworms, we at Bran Insect recommend carrying out at least two consecutive treatments at an interval of 20 to 30 days after the initial application. As already mentioned - the products we use provide protection against woodworms for up to 1 year, which is why annual treatments should be performed until the pest is completely eradicated.

Important: For greater effectiveness in eliminating these insects nesting inside the wood, it is necessary for the treated premises to remain tightly closed for at least the next 2 hours, and when possible, for a longer period.
